Os calcis removal

Braceon CPO

Dear list:
Any recommendations for orthotic treatment for removal of the Os calcis.
Patient is heavy..6′-4″..280+lbs…weak dorsiflexors/zero plantar flexors causing
some recurvatum and no pushoff when trying to walk…developing pes cavus and
claw toes because of the muscle imbalance. Previously wore conventional metal
afo’s prior to this surgical procedure, but broke all the s.steel uprights
because of his size!!.
Any suggestions on using carbon laminations, or carbon reinforced
thermoplastics with a prosthetic “heel” built into the orthosis???? Any thoughts or past
experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance B.Raceon
