Good morning all
I wonder if anyone can suggest an alternative for this patient
He is a 10 year old boy who had a hip disarticulation for osteosarcoma
about 5 years ago – 4′ 9″ tall and weighs 29kg – his foot size is 22cm
-currently wearing Otto Bock paediatric components and managing well.
However, his foot size (22cm) is now too big for their paediatric range. It
only goes up to 21cm. Otto Bock have told us that there is nothing they can
do to help us fit bigger feet to their paediatric components. Given that he
only weighs 28kg and the weight limit of the components is 45kg he clearly
needs to stay on paediatric components for quite a while yet. There is no
way he would manage adult components.
Does anyone know of any paediatric prosthetics systems (that include a free
axis hip joint) that allow bigger foot sizes?
In an attempt to reduce the anticipated overwhelming response; please only
reply if you know of a specific system or manufacturer, not a component that
would do the job!
Thanks for your help – I will wait 2 weeks to compile the results before
replying to the list.
Best regards
Martin
