49 responses were received from my earlier post regarding a patient who,
through self abuse, destroyed his nose. The responses included several
from Australia and Europe. Several were quite detailed in that specific
componentry and procedures were outlined.
Of the responses–2 called for protective head gear, 1 suggested wrist
restraints and the remaining 46 suggested elbow orthoses of varying
descriptions. All elbow orthoses were aimed at limiting the patient’s
access to his facial region.
