I want to welcome you to 2021 in the Alabama Prosthetic and Orthotic Association and a bright outlook as we return to a more normal life. I do not need to tell anyone how challenging the last 15 months have been for us personally and professionally.
I am happy to say that APOA is preparing for a return to a live and in-person annual meeting that will be a hybrid approach for this year.

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON JUNE 15TH.
We have been fortunate to find a beautiful new facility to hold our meeting in Montgomery this year. Faulkner University Health Science Center is preparing to start a DPT program beginning in Spring of 2022. They have a beautiful facility that will be open for other programs in 2021 and we have been granted permission to hold our 2-day meeting there. We will be sending our registration information in the coming days and it will have the name and location of the facility.
Our goal was to find a location in 2021 and a date that was later than the previous meeting dates to be sure that we were far enough beyond Corona Virus restrictions to offer a safe and meaningful in person experience. I believe that we learned a lot from our virtual experience in 2020 and will take lessons learned an apply them to this years event. There will be a combination of live and virtual educational presentations.
We are fortunate to have this amazing new facility in East Montgomery to hold our meeting. For those who are interested, the Montgomery Biscuits AA Baseball team will be in town for some after hours fun. Please lock in these dates and I look forward to sharing registration information and seeing you in Montgomery in August.
