Someone Mr.Azhar Hussain COP (?) who neither wrote his credentials nor
affiliations as per the OANDP FORUM protocol but objected to Mr.Tim’s views
quoted above and tried to defame an important personality and institution in
Pakistan by writing following disgraceful remarks:
< Sorry to write you that this person has no good Myoarm prosthetic workshop faciality,he only only know very little about the theory.Bec he does't have any CPO in his centre. Pls aware about that if you are not awared. Thanx COP(A-Hussain) >

I donot know who or from where the poor fellow (Mr.Azhar) is and we cannot
comment on his abilities but his misleading statement depicts his poor
educational, moral and professional standards.
Being from neighboring India I feel moral duty to defend HOPE and Dr.Niazi
of Pakistan no matter how tense the border situation is between our
countries. I am doing this just to update the esteemed forum by bringing
forward the following undeniable facts to which I have been a witness
personally for the last 12 years. I was impatient and eager to see a
clarification come from Dr.Niazi but I think due to his trip to USA /
CANADA, he may not be aware of the current forum discussion. I have never
visited Pakistan but I met Dr. Niazi in Glasgow when he was attending
courses in UK’s highest O & P institution. Pakistanis know he is only
qualified mechanical engineer cum medical doctor in their country who
abandoned engineering jobs as well as orthopaedic surgery practice only for
the sake of developing O & P profession in his country. He established a big
institution and trained the technicians by himself.I know he was in Germany
in 2000 for ‘Myoelectric prosthetic fitting and servicing’ courses at
OttoBock facility, a fact which can be verified from OttoBock. Thus he is
the only certified by Ottobock to do it in Pakistan. Whether he did or not
that I do not know. Knowing and practicing are two different things, but how
poor people in our region can afford the cost of Myoelectric? I also came
to know from Pakistani orthopaedic surgeons attending international seminars
that Dr. Niazi is only person in Pakistan who delivers formal regular
lectures on O & P to postgraduate students of orthopaedic surgery in Lahore
and once remained on the teaching faculty list of the College of Physician
and Surgeons of Pakistan, the country’s highest medical education
institution. Regarding Hope Rehab Centre in Lahore, the info which I
gathered from Pakistani professionals was that this is the local government
registered body and providing the largest variety of O & P in Pakistan and
also the largest in supplying free legs to the poor and needy amputees. I
think he is the solo founder of ISPO in Pakistan.
Until something comes from Hope or Dr. Niazi I fully endorse the truthful
views of Dr. Shehzad Zafar, Dr.Heather and Mr.Tim. I wish I could know much
about this org. but I am sure many esteemed forum members would have their
own sources of info to confirm it.
