Working with Physical Therapists

Miki Fairley

Hello. The O&P EDGE is planning an article on physical therapists
relative to certified prosthetists/orthotists.
How do you work and communicate effectively with a PT? How do you
coordinate your efforts? Do you feel that PTs are encroaching on the
certified O&P practitioners’ scope of practice? If so, why do you think
this is happening?
Does your facility employ a PT or have a mutual relationship with a PT
practice? Do you get many referrals from PTs?

Lastly, how do you see PTs-as partners, competitors-or both?

We are eager to hear your views and experiences. PTs are welcome to
respond also. We can quote you anonymously in the article if you so
desire, but we do need to know who you are and what your credentials
are.

Thanking you in advance.

Regards,
