Hi am Velid 28 years above knee amputee from Sarajevo capital of Bosnia.
I have asked this one man from Orthotic & Prosthetic AThlete Assistance
Fund and he proposed me to ask on this way.
I haven’t lived active since I had lost my right leg during Bosnian war
(post grenade injury infection in 1992),
but I intend to change that. Does anyone have video tapes from amputee
competitions, and tapes with exercises for above knee amputees that can
send free (I will make copies and give it to other amputees here) in
order to help amputees here to motivate themselves. Also tell me if
someone knows is there any programme that helps amputees from relative
poor countries (and that is Bosnia in post war period) to get good
prothesis (like Mauch knees and FlexFoot feet), new or good second hand,
that can help them to live active life again.
I am sorry for disturbing but it is not easy to be an amputee
(especially in country that has recently gone out of war) and I have to
try.
