I am looking for a central fab facility that can do exoskeletal knee
disarticulation using a wooden shine, external joints and, with
hydraulic control knee.
I have a middle age KD female patient who currently uses an older Hosmer
hydraulic control knee unit that is completely worn out, and side joints
that are also torn apart. She likes the heavy componentry of the OW
wooden shine, because of the feedback to her gait from the weight of the
distal limb swing. Presently it acts like a single axis knee with no
controls, and as expected she has a one speed gait. I have discussed
with her about many alternatives. She doesn’t want to change, and is
content with her gait. She is on state medicaid program, so cost is a
factor.
1. I am looking for a name of an experienced fabrication facility.
I have recently received the central fab list, but I would like feed
back on who can do this. I have heard that some have lost their
experienced techs.
2. I would gladly welcome anyone with a helpful thought or
suggestion.
