I don’t know the tax laws in Canada but you have to very careful in the US
insetting up such a thing. By definition, an independent contractor must be
independant, ie, can work unsupervised and does not require someone to tell
him what to do. I would bet the US IRS would fuss a bit over a technician
being put into that catagory–by definition they are dependent upon the
practitioner for instructions as to their duties…eh?
A practitioner on the other hand, would not be so difficult to defend…
