Prosthetic supply of Children

chicot

Our problem is one of opinion concerning the supply of artificial limbs

to children. Some of our chinese doctors claim, that the

containment of the stump in a hard socket hinders the development of the

muscles.

We are not aware of such a problem, however we can not disprove the

point. As the bone grows faster than the surrounding tissue,

there might be something to it.

There are many good reasons to fit children with a prosthesis, however

we would still like to raise the point for discussion.

Please share your experience with us.
