Thigh corset material

Larry Lax

Good evening;

We’ve got a patient who uses a thigh lacer and needs a replacement for

his prosthesis. Doing without a lacer is not an option. Trouble is, his

personal hygiene and bladder control are, um, less than desirable. In

nutshell, his thigh lacer is thoroughly pickled and revolting. Does

anyone have a recommendation for a substitute material for leather for

use in a thigh lacer? Something that breathes would be a plus, otherwise

we were considering linear polyethylene, which seems to hold rivets

nicely and is certainly cleanable. He wears long wool socks beneath the

corset which help wick moisture (and yes, they’re just as badly pickled

as the corset).

Suggestions?

Larry (the one with the gas mask:))
