CMS has not yet issued July’s mid-year file, but they did issue an April 1 update, which is what we’ve just reformatted. This file is public information, reformatted for our own use. We offer it for free. We charge nothing and accept no liability, but we request that you alert us if you find errors. The current file contains information effective April 1, 2021 and will remain on the Blue Diamond Orthopedic website until a newer file replaces it.
FYI, here’s how we reformat the file:
* We eliminate all but L-codes and a few A-codes.
* We delete cells not containing information useful to O&P.
* We add an average-allowable column.
* We insert a long-description column to the far right.
* We make all columns sortable.
* We clean up and add some color.
Note for 2021: Under Competitive Bidding, on OTS spinal and knee orthoses, CMS leaves the “Ceiling” and “Floor” cells blank. This creates a problem for us, which we have solved by leaving the “Average” cells blank on OTS orthoses.
