Students in the University of Washington’s Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics (MPO) program earned scholarships at the Northwest Chapter Meeting of the American Academy of O&P (NWAAOP) meeting in April. The NWAAOP board awarded second-year students Val Goetz, Mya Akrie, and Shannon Coyle $1,000 each as part of the Bernard Simon Scholarships.
Second-year students gave presentations based on the critically appraised topics they completed in the evidence-based practice course. Coyle presented “The effect of night-time orthosis use on dorsiflexion range of motion in children with lower limb paresis.”
