Panhandle Prosthetics & Orthotics, Texas, was awarded $100,000 as a winner of the 28th annual Amarillo EnterPrize Challenge, a business plan competition designed to help local entrepreneurs expand their operations and contribute to long-term economic growth. The challenge focused on companies that export the majority of their products or services outside the Amarillo, Texas, metropolitan area.
The winners were chosen from more than 20 applicants who received months of business coaching, mentorship, and pitch preparation before presenting to a panel of local judges. The award provides funding as a five-year forgivable loan, with $20,000 forgiven annually if performance goals are met. This year’s three recipients are projected to generate $3.17 million in new revenue for the regional economy over the next three years.
The program is funded by the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation and managed by the WT Enterprise Center under the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business at West Texas A&M University.
