Earth Day was marked on Monday, April 22, and a host of related festivities happened throughout that week. We thought we’d highlight one of the more specific problems when it comes to caring for Mother Earth, as they say. Our question focused on what individuals can do to reduce the impact of plastic pollution.
Of those who responded to our Earth-day poll on LinkedIn, 53 percent said they help reduce plastic in the environment by carrying a reusable bottle; 26 percent said they could recycle more; 11 percent said they avoid single-use items, and the remaining 11 percent said they bring the reusable bag whenever possible.
When it comes to O&P care, multidisciplinary care teams are becoming an increasingly popular strategy for long-term patient care. Nearly all clinicians agreed that the multidisciplinary team care approach best serves their patient population. Our question was what are some of the benefits of providing this type of patient care? Of those who responded on LinkedIn, 78 percent said improved patient outcomes; 14 percent said overall team satisfaction; 5 percent said that type of care streamlines the workflow and can save time; and 3 percent said they believe their patients are happier because of the all-encompassing care.
There was some big news out of the FTC this week: It issued a final rule that bans noncompete clauses nationwide., and that had O&P peeps talking—mainly for the better it seems, according to early voting via our informal poll. Since the FTC chairperson said the rule will give Americans the freedom to pursue a new job, start a new business, or bring a new idea to the marketplace, we wanted to know what our followers thought.
Our question is up and in full swing: What do you think? Pro? Con? Unsure? So far, overwhelmingly voters agree the time has come for the new ruling.
Tell us what you think. We’d love to hear from you.
