Having an amputation himself, Richard K. “Rick” Churchill, CPO, said he can empathize with his patients’ situations and also motivate them to move forward to achieve their goals. As the sole owner and practitioner of Cardinal Prosthetics and Orthotics, Winchester, Virginia, he takes pride in knowing each of his patients personally and being actively involved in helping them regain mobility. Churchill believes that practitioners and business owners must be passionate about their work, and set goals and work hard to achieve them. “Burn the midnight oil, because knowledge and success don’t come easily,” he said. Outside of his practice, he is active in his church and in youth baseball and competitive cheerleading with his children, and he collects coins and antiques.
