Ethnocare develops prosthetic solutions designed to improve socket fit, stability, and comfort for lower-limb amputees. With CMS assigning its first product, the Overlay, the new L-5657 code and a fee schedule of $306.32 effective April 1, 2026, US clinics now have a clear path to better patient outcomes.
At Ethnocare, our mission is to develop prosthetic solutions that improve comfort, fit, and confidence for people living with limb loss and limb difference. Our flagship product, the Overlay, is designed to help address one of the most persistent challenges in prosthetic care: residual limb volume fluctuation.
The Overlay is an air-based prosthetic insert for lower-limb amputees that helps manage volume changes throughout the day and improve socket fit. By helping fill space dynamically inside the socket, it offers a new approach to volume management beyond traditional prosthetic socks alone.
Today, we are proud to share an important reimbursement milestone for clinics across the United States.
CMS has officially assigned the Overlay TT and TF a dedicated HCPCS code, L-5657, with a fee schedule of $306.32, effective April 1, 2026. This is an important step because it confirms recognition of the Overlay as a distinct solution for limb volume management.
This also creates a more sustainable pathway for clinics to provide advanced limb volume management while supporting patient access.
Updated List Price
To further support patient and clinician access, Ethnocare has adjusted its Overlay TT and TF list price accordingly. We are especially proud of this step, as it helps make Overlay more accessible while supporting sustainable use in clinical practice.

Key Takeaway
For clinics, this means the Overlay now has a much clearer and predictable reimbursement pathway:
- A dedicated HCPCS code
- A defined fee schedule
- Support for clinically justified dispensing and replacement practices
Just as importantly, L-5657 is independent of other HCPCS codes, meaning it can be billed alongside suspension systems, liners, socks, and other prosthetic components when medically necessary. This gives clinicians more flexibility to build the most appropriate solution for each patient.
At Ethnocare, we believe this is an important moment not only for clinicians, but also for patients who are looking for better options to manage limb volume changes in a practical, reimbursable way.
