With an expected attendance of nearly 1,800 people and hundreds of sessions, events, and exhibits, not to mention casual colleague meetups and seeing a bit of Nashville, there’s a lot to do in just a few days. Having a plan can help make the most of the time.
For attendees who like to plan their schedule in time increments, there are 15-minute, 20-minute, 90-minute, and three-hour topics. The two three-hour, unsponsored, hands-on workshops offer the chance to learn more about specific techniques in the orthotic treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and about aligning and training sport-specific prostheses, which builds on the momentum being built by So Every BODY Can Move giving more people chances to get active. Both events are held on Wednesday and worth three CEUs. (Keep in mind, they do require an extra fee to attend. You can still register for either one online by February 13 ($115 members/$175 nonmembers) or onsite ($115 members/$180 nonmembers).
If you have just a bit of time to fill, pop into one of the 15-minute free paper presentations on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday that cover a range of topics, including the user experience, device design and testing, and gait.
On Thursday night, the keynote topic is Pillars of Collaboration: A Conversation with Leaders in O&P. The panel of innovators, clinicians, and researchers who have shaped the profession talk about how collaboration has led to advances in O&P. Speakers include Scott Thach, MSPO, CPO ,Stefania Fatone, PhD, BPO(Hons), Cara Negri, CP/LP, Brian Kaluf, CP, Colleen P. Coulter, PT, DPT, PhD, and Nicole Ver Kuilen.
Don’t forget to allow time to wander the exhibit hall to see what manufacturers and other exhibitors have to offer. The O&P EDGE will be there too, at booth 812. We would love to see you.
