Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics and Prosthetics (NAAOP) has postponed its Fellowship program until the summer of 2021.
The NAAOP Fellowship selection committee and board previously announced the 2020 summer fellows. Nikki Grace-Strader and Lucas DeLuca were selected out of six candidates. If available in 2021, they will remain in the program.
Grace-Straderhas a transfemoral amputation and has undergone osseointegration surgery. Her experience through healthcare and rehabilitation will inform her advocacy for O&P patient care. DeLuca had a transfemoral amputation when he was two years old. He has a master’s degree in disability studies.
