Dirk Christian Schulte, vice president of Ortho 1, Tampa, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on July 20. He was 54 years old.

Shulte’s career in orthopedics began in 1982 in Remscheid, Germany, where he cofounded Ortho-Dynamic in 1992. In 1995, he cofounded Ortho-Dynactive in Tampa, before founding Euro International, Tampa, in 1997, where he was also the president.
In 2013, he was named executive vice president/owner of Streifeneder USA. Euro International was the U.S. office of Streifeneder ortho.production, headquartered in Emmering, Germany, and began operating as Streifeneder USA. Schulte and his wife, Stephanie Olivo-Schulte, founded Ortho 1 in 2017, where she is the president and CEO.
Ortho 1 has changed its office hours to 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday until further notice.
