More than 20,000 soldiers have been wounded fighting in Iraq and
Afghanistan since 2001, according to an article by Paul Reed Ward
in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
August 28. Of these, 460 have undergone amputations, with at least
78 losing multiple limbs.
