Freedom Innovations, Irvine, California, has appointed Steven Reinecke, MSBE, as executive vice president of research and development (R&D).
Reinecke has more than 25 years of orthopedic reconstruction, trauma, spine, and biologics experience. He most recently served as managing director at DiscoveryOrtho Partners, headquartered in New York, New York, where he developed R&D strategies for companies operating in the orthopedic, spine, biologics, and dental industries. He also has worked as chief technology officer at Alphatec Spine, Carlsbad, California; R&D vice president at Orthofix, Lewisville, Texas; and was co-founder of medical device companies Kinesis Medical, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Ergo-Medics, Walla Walla, Washington.
Reinecke holds a master of science degree in biomedical engineering and a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Vermont, Burlington. He currently holds 24 U.S. and international patents and has authored numerous articles related to general orthopedic technologies.
