The Amputee Coalition has issued a call for abstracts for presentations to be delivered at its 2015 National Conference to be held July 23-25 in Tucson, Arizona. The abstract submission deadline is December 30.
Suggested presentation topics are emotional adjustment to limb loss; emerging technologies for people with limb loss; living well with limb loss; returning to the workforce; living an active lifestyle with limb loss; adaptive sports and recreation options for individuals with limb loss; specific equipment to support adaptive sport or recreational activities; caring for someone with limb loss; trauma stewardship for caregivers; parenting with limb loss; preventing and/or managing secondary conditions (e.g., back pain or skin breakdown); pain management (including phantom limb pain); safety in the home; and women’s challenges with limb loss.
Presentations should be appropriate for those with amputations and their caregivers, and should not be used to market or pitch a particular product, service, or provider.
