On the final day of the 2020 American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) Virtual National Assembly, O&P students and clinicians were honored with awards recognizing business and academics.
Dale Berry, CP/L, FAAOP, was awarded The Sam E. Hamontree, CP (E), Business Education award for his case study, “Prior Authorization, How to Prove Medical Necessity.”
Student winners for the orthotics and prosthetics abstract posters were:
William Eddy, a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Eddy received the 2020 Otto and Lucille Becker award for his poster, “Quality Standards in Custom Orthotics: Tracking Cause and Frequency of Failed Custom Orthoses by Warranty Cases.”
Allison Gordon, a student at the University of Hartford. Gordon received the 2020 Edwin and Kathryn Arbogast award for her poster, “Static and Dynamic Balance Comparison with the Transfemoral K2 Population Utilizing K3 Componentry.”
