baseball glove modifications

nikta pirouz

Hi List
An OT requested that we see a 7 year old pt who has bilateral
symbrachdactly as well as congenital cleft hands. She has a toe to thumb
transfer and her pinky on her right (non dominant) hand and a toe to thumb
transfer and ring and pinky fingers on her left hand.
She is playing baseball but is having hard time effectively using her
right hand to close the glove around a ball to catch it.

She is extremely concerned about blending in with the other kids.

Any ideas of how to help her catch a baseball with her right hand?

Thanks!
Niki
