With respect to the arm / elbow orthosis, a device made of thin-walled
stainles steel tubing fitted with pelottes has been developed at the Delft
University. It is being marketed by Ambroise Holland, where you can also
find some more info on it (description, pictures) :
there is a version with a hand-support, which will not support individual
fingers however. But maybe a support like this will do the trick for the
singer you mention.
