I reached out to the OANDP-L listserv with an issue we were dealing with and was amazed and thankful for all the responses I received.
Our company, which does in-house fabrication, suddenly started having a huge payment issue with multiple big payers. Several claims were denied at once, all stating there was no documentation that we were providing our patients with custom bracing. Even though our evaluation notes said that the patient was cast for custom bracing, the denials said that was not proof. It got to the point where I asked them if we needed to send a video of us actually fabricating braces here. We were extremely frustrated to say the least. Luckily, we were able to get it turned around fairly quickly with the help I got through the listserv. As it turns out, the problem was the lack of a measurement form included with the claim.
