Craig Anthony “Tony” Plattner, CO(e), passed away on May 6. He was 70 years old.
Plattner graduated from Grand Rapids Junior College in 1976 while also working in the O&P department of Mary Free Bed Hospital, Michigan. He completed his O&P certificate at Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center in 1977 and began clinical care at Plattner Orthopedic Company, Illinois, which his father opened in 1946.
In 1986 Plattner was named president of the company, and it was chosen as the best small business by the Peoria Chamber of Commerce in 1996. Plattner sold the company in 2011 but continued providing clinical care there for five years until retirement. He then worked for an automotive company for more than two years before his official retirement.
