Doron “Dory” Louis Selinger, BOCO, BOCP, passed away April 16 in Texas. He was 54 years old.
While working as an O&P technician, Selinger earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed his O&P education at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He was a practitioner in California, Georgia, and across the West, before joining Parkland Memorial Hospital, Texas, in 2025, and he helped develop a cycling leg with an adjustable socket.
Selinger, who had a transtibial amputation, won a gold medal in track cycling at the 1996 Paralympic Games in Georgia, where he set three cycling world records. He also won a silver and two bronze medals at the 2000 Paralympic Games in Australia, and was a three-time world champion, with European Championship titles to his name.
