Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, headquartered in Exton, Pennsylvania, and Freedom Innovations, Irvine, California, have formed a partnership to bring clinical research study protocols to Ability P&O’s patient care facilities. The companies expect the partnership to make O&P clinical research more accessible by moving it from a traditional institutional research setting, which can make it difficult to enroll enough participants for an effective study, into the practice environment.
Ability is currently conducting a prospective study of microprocessor ankles that has enrolled 23 participants.
