The American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) has announced that Executive Director Thomas F. Fise, JD, LLM, will leave the association when his contract expires at the end of 2018. Fise’s departure comes after nearly 12 years of AOPA leadership.

“On behalf of AOPA, I would like to thank Tom for his dedication and commitment to the orthotic and prosthetic industry,” said Jim Weber, MBA, AOPA president. “His legislative and regulatory experience has been most valuable to AOPA as he has worked to champion our association’s needs to Congress, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other regulatory bodies.”
AOPA will work with Sterling Martin Associates, a national executive search firm, to find Fise’s successor. AOPA’s executive committee has appointed a seven-member search committee as well. The search committee includes Weber; Michael Oros, CPO/L, FAAOP; Chris Nolan, Jeff Lutz, Jeff Collins, Traci Dralle, and Dave McGill. AOPA expects to fill the position by the end of August, which will allow time for a leadership transition.
