
The majority of commercially available upper-limb prostheses have limited ability to provide dexterous movements and sensory feedback. Perhaps unsurprisingly then, it is common for people with upper-limb loss to abandon use of a prosthesis. While numerous survey studies have identified capabilities that individuals would like their prostheses to have, it is not known what risks users are willing to accept in order to have those features.
