Canada’s first national O&P Day was held on September 19 to highlight and promote the professions of certified orthotists and prosthetists and registered O&P technicians. It was also an opportunity to spotlight the people whose lives are impacted by the profession.
Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC), the profession’s national organization, used the day to raise awareness of the diverse group of patients who receive O&P care and the practitioners who help them improve their quality of life.
Canada has approximately 50,000 people living with limb loss and more than 600 certified clinicians and registered technicians, according to OPC.
