Celebrating New Offerings

As I write this, we are preparing for the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists' (the Academy's) Annual Meeting in New Orleans, February 18-21. We are excited to meet with our readers and have discussions about the status of the profession and ways that we can help market your facility to patients and referral sources. We have some great giveaways, so make sure you stop by and visit us at tables 322-323. Amplitude Media Group (AMG) will also be exhibiting nearby (table 308) with copies of the premiere issue of Amplitude . For more than 13 years, The O&P EDGE has provided independent, cutting-edge information for practitioners in the prosthetics, orthotics, pedorthics, and allied healthcare professions. With the introduction of Amplitude , AMG seeks to make that type of independent, quality information available in a bimonthly print magazine for amputees, their family members, and their caregivers. Through the magazine and related information products, AMG will offer content on a wide variety of topics including peer support, active living, emotional issues, tips for daily living, health and wellness, mobility, and adaptive living, as well as provide important news related to amputees, prosthetics, legislation, insurance issues, and comorbidities and disorders that put individuals at an increased (re)amputation risk. Amplitude will be mailed to AMG subscribers, and disseminated through a large number of other outlets. Amplitude is a free subscription for amputees, their families, and their caregivers. To sign up, visit the Amplitude website at www.amplitude-media.com and click on the Free Subscription tab. Beginning in March 2015, Amplitude will be mailed along with The O&P EDGE every other month. We hope that even if Amplitude does not apply directly to you, that you will pass it along to friends, colleagues, or patients who may enjoy its focus. If you are at the Academy meeting, I encourage you to stop by the AMG booth to discuss what you'd like to see in future issues. While you're there, take the opportunity to order a copy of AMG's Limb Loss Resource Guide, now in its second printing, hot off the press. And to celebrate the new offering, as well as support a perennial Academy meeting event, we hope that you will join us Thursday, February 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Storyville Hall. We will be cohosting OPAF's First Bid Live & Silent Auction and 20th Anniversary Celebration along with OPIE Choice Network, while debuting Amplitude 's premiere issue.
