The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently updated its frequently asked questions (FAQs) about Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) billing during the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE). The updated FAQs supplement the previously released 1135 Waiver FAQs, and Without 1135 Waiver FAQs related to waivers or modifications under section 1135 of the Social Security Act.
The policies outlined in the FAQs are effective for the duration of the PHE unless superseded by future legislation.
