In The Harris Poll on behalf of Strategic Education and Workforce Edge, 1,514 US healthcare workers and 304 healthcare employers responded to the survey conducted over three weeks this summer. Regarding the data that 70 percent of Gen Z will seek a new role in the next year, the report summary said, “Gen Z’s mobility shouldn’t be mistaken for a lack of commitment,” because 95 percent also said they value long-term job security. Overall, 59 percent of the healthcare workforce said they plan to seek new roles.
80 percent of all responding employees said that clear opportunities for advancement are important to them, while 47 percent of employers acknowledged that a lack of opportunities for career advancement, professional development, or education opportunities are the main reasons why employees leave. This data led the authors of the report to write, “Workforce education remains an underutilized retention strategy.”
