The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that the processing responsibility for Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) appeals and rebuttals has changed. Effective May 8, the National Provider Enrollment DMEPOS enrollment contractors (NPEs) will assume responsibility for processing DMEPOS appeals and rebuttals for suppliers. These functions had been performed by Chags Health Information Technology.
