Among the lessons we have all learned in the past few years is the interconnectedness of people across the globe. Though we may not all be experiencing the same conditions, things such as interruptions in supply chains due to shutdowns in other countries and disruptions in communications from conflicts, outbreaks, etc. have shown how events have a cascading impact across borders. In this issue, we embrace this global outlook and look at ways we can learn from each other and communicate for better collaboration across cultures.
In “How It’s Done: How O&P Care Is Provided Around the World,” we spoke to practitioners and consultants about their experiences in providing care in a number of countries. In addition to pointing to the differences in payer models and appropriate component selections, they point to how the experience of practicing in one environment helped to fuel creative solutions in another, as well as the commonalities that define O&P regardless of location.
