While our editorial content generally focuses on O&P clinical issues, research and outcomes, patient care, and business solutions, in this issue we turn our attention to the experiences of the people who make up the O&P community.
For many, at the heart of choosing a career in the O&P profession is the desire to help people. It’s no surprise then that the spirit of volunteerism is common in this community. From participating in international humanitarian missions to volunteering at local patient events to serving on national and regional association boards and committees, those in O&P find a variety of ways to give of themselves. We asked students, residents, and clinicians to share their perspectives in “Volunteerism Thrives in O&P.”
