Eqwal, a France-based healthcare and O&P provider, acquired Orthopädie-Technik Kurtze into its patient care division.
Founded in 1910 in Germany under the name Habermann Orthopädietechnik, the company initially focused on O&P. In 1985, Hermann Kurtze acquired the company, leading to the creation of the current Orthopädie-Technik Kurtze. In 2003, Thomas Kurtze took over the business, which now operates three branches in Germany and employs 61 people, from his father.
Thomas Kurtze remains managing director of Orthopädie-Technik Kurtze.
“I am very pleased to welcome Thomas Kurtze and his teams to the Eqwal Group. This new addition in Germany strengthens our presence in the country and allows us to further expand our local orthopedic care network,” said Eqwal CEO Jean-Pierre Mahé.
