The Hanger Charitable Foundation, Austin, Texas, has completed its second round of 2017 grant awards, giving $56,500 to six nonprofit organizations, as follows:
- Austin Blades Sled Hockey, Sled Hockey for Individuals with Physical Challenges: $5,000 to support adaptive sled hockey camps and tournaments
- Challenged Athletes Foundation, Access for Athletes: $25,000 to provide adaptive sports equipment, coaching, mentoring and competition expenses to people with physical challenges
- Cranio Care Bears, Advocacy, Awareness and Family Support: $10,000 to provide support through care packages to families of children facing surgery for craniosynostosis
- Disabled Sports USA, Ski Spectacular: $10,000 to support youth with limb loss or limb difference during a six-day adaptive winter sports camp
- Girl Scouts of Central Texas, GSCTX Helping Hands: $1,500 to fund a service project where girls will learn how to use technology to make an impact in the lives of people with physical challenges
- Power on with Limb Loss, National Conference and Events: $5,000 to support educating and mentoring people with limb loss or limb difference through community activities, sports, and outreach
