Hike Medical, a medical device company and artificial intelligence (AI) platform for the O&P, durable medical equipment (DME), and podiatry industries, raised $22.5 million in seed and Series A funding, which the company said will be used to “reimagine the entire supply chain” for O&P and DME.
The investment will help the company expand its AI, clinical, and 3D printing platforms, and fund hiring across engineering and sales roles in San Francisco and manufacturing in Peoria, Illinois, to serve the broader DME market. Hike strengthened its leadership team ahead of the round, hiring industry veteran Jerry Tang as chief operating officer earlier this year.
The funding was led by Max Altman, co‐founder and managing partner at Saga Ventures, with additional participation from Indicator Ventures, Fifth Down Capital, RiverPark Ventures, strategic investor and commercial partner Orthofeet, and angel investors Sam Blond and Jerod Mayo, Super Bowl champion and former head coach of the New England Patriots.
