Franklin Eugene Friddle Sr., 93, founder of Friddle’s Orthopedic Appliances in Honea Path and Anderson, South Carolina, passed away September 26.
Friddle was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on January 31, 1929, and served in the US Marine Corps, earning the rank of sergeant. Prior to founding Friddle’s Orthopedic Appliances in 1967, he was the director of orthotics at Shriners Children’s Hospital in Greenville.
After his retirement, son Frank Friddle Jr. purchased the company. In 2015, Frank Jr. sold the company to daughters Rachel Friddle-Johnson, CPO, and Rebecca Friddle.
Frank E. Friddle Sr. is survived by his former wife, Sydney Friddle; sons Frank Friddle Jr. (Sandra), Reed Friddle (Angie); daughters, Treci Williams, and Kelli Holly (Steve); nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Friddle Grant.
