John W. (Bill) Potter, CPO, passed away in July at the age of 91 in Temple, Texas.
Potter worked for the VA Medical Center in both Dallas and Temple, Texas, for 37 years followed by a private practice for nine years in Gun Barrel City, Texas. He had an engineering mind and mechanical talents, inventing items and improving on many O&P procedures. He was a faithful member of the Texas Association of O&P and was very active when the industry was fighting to require state certification in both fields of service.
Potter also mentored many young practitioners and technicians and in his free time served as a volunteer firefighter and water rescue diver.
