Michael Matthew Amrich Jr. passed away on January 15. He was 70 years old.
He practiced clinical prosthetics for 37 years before transitioning into research, education, and consultation, first at College Park Industries and later at Steeper.
Amrich attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, earning a bachelor of applied science in physical education and exercise physiology in 1979. He completed post-graduate certificate programs in prosthetics at the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1981, and New York University in 1982, later continuing his education with a post-graduate certificate in orthotics from Northwestern University in 1992.
Amrich was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis in 2024 and retired from Steeper in December 2025.
