To say that I’ve had an interesting career path is an understatement. I’ve gone from being a truck driver, to a prosthetic technician, to an inventor, to the owner of Prosthetics Research Specialists and a certified and licensed O&P practitioner. Now I find myself in yet another professional role, that of prosthetist for cows and horses. What started out as just wanting to help the occasional large animal has turned into a full-time job creating O&P devices for many large animals. I have friends who make prostheses and braces for dogs, and I do that as well. But it seems that my talents have migrated more toward large farm animals. In this capacity, I have to be willing to travel long distances and be able to think so far out of the box that I can’t see the lines anymore.
