If you truly care about the patients who come through your doors and you have never been engaged beyond your practice, it is time to put your mouth where your money is! The pressures on our field to be permanently set as “widget makers” is high. The long-term impact on the people wo depend on O&P care could be disastrous. April is “Limb Loss Awareness Month” and is an excellent opportunity for your practice to support your patients and the wider community by participating in activities that raise awareness and educate people about limb loss. You may also be aware that AOPA is holding its Policy Forum next month in May so the activities I am recommending below can be a great segue into the policy forum.
