The Live in Motion Foundation, formerly the Orthotic and Prosthetic Foundation for Education and Research, named Christina Cole, CPed, CFo, COA, as the recipient of its Spring 2026 Access to Practice Award. 
Cole earned an Associate of Applied Science degree from Oakland Community College, where she developed an interest in biomechanics leading to an O&P career with a focus on how devices support patients in daily life. She became an orthotic assistant in 2012, an orthotics fitter in 2014, and a pedorthist in 2015.
The Access to Practice Professional Development Awards provide financial support for O&P assistants and certified pedorthists to attend national educational conferences, expanding access to the latest clinical knowledge, emerging technologies, and professional development opportunities.
