Forbes Magazine included the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Hugh Herr, PhD, as its lead accessibility officer, on its Accessibility 100 list for their contributions in building devices that expand mobility, communication, and daily life accessibility for millions. The list, new this year, celebrates leaders who are reshaping the world for people with disabilities through innovation and impact.
Herr is a professor of media arts and sciences, serves as co-director of the K. Lisa Yang Center for Bionics, and heads the biomechatronics research group at the MIT Media Lab.
The Forbes list was curated through interviews with more than 400 accessibility leaders in more than 15 countries.
