Microprocessor-controlled knee (MPK) technology has helped Louisville, Kentucky, police sergeant Kevin Trees recover much of his previous functional ability and enthusiasm for life after an off-duty motorcycle accident in 2003 left him with a badly mangled right leg, shattered knee, and multiple breaks in his right arm and hand.
